Rush "the Idiot" Limbaugh threatens to move to Costa Rica if the Health Care Bill is passed. Really? I am thinking of moving to Costa Rica if it's not passed, because Costa Rica has universal health care. Does that ruin your plan, Rush? I really wonder why people listen to this man. Doesn't he have a staff of researchers feeding him facts while he's on the air or is ignorance his forte?
On a side note, Costa Rica is probably a good place to move if you're trying to escape Sallie Mae.
Thanks for the tip, Dad!

Hope you’re having a good one. If not, hope it isn’t too awful.

It's official, he really is a comedian.
ReplyDeleteHis listeners are too stupid to think for themselves or check facts, they just want to be angry at something. They are probably all illiterate and can't use the internet either, who still listens to radio?
ReplyDeleteRush hates law school scambusters, too. That's just my feeling.
ReplyDeleteHe made a statement on the radio the following day clarifying his previous statement. He stated he would go to Costa Rica to take advantage of the private hospitals where many wealthy people go to get treatment. The people in the country who receive health care from the public system do not have access to the handful of private hospitals in Costa Rica; hospitals where the care is apparently first-rate and the cost is about 1/6 of what it would be for comparable procedures in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteGood save, Rush! I feel like he had to say something! But if you listen to this clip, that doesn't sound like he meant he'll go to private hospitals in CR.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rush makes these comments about "moving" to country X, he is JOKING. His audience knows it's never intended to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, Rush's critics have zero sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteSadly, any support for "universal" health care can only be based economic ignorance. When a service is perceived as "free," more of it is consumed, resulting in shortages in services and increased costs. Canadians (even after having paid insane tax rates to pay for the health care of strangers) routinely travel in droves to the United States for health care procedures. The WAIT for SURGERIES in Canada is typically 6 months or more.
Thus, universal health care is actually universal insurance without the actual health care. (There is no such thing as a free lunch.)
Socialized health care is tragically flawed and it has failed in all countries where it is practiced. For being such an "idiot," Rush is right for opposing this tsunami.
6:18... we just have different philosophies on life and what is a right and what's not a right. I'd rather have "some" health care for all than great health care for "some". There are too many uninsured, and the number is growing exponentially. I believe that every person has a right to adequate health care. It would ultimately save us money. As it stands, people who don't have insurance wait until a problem has grown so severe before they go to the emergency room--the most expensive medical facility in America. If you can check out a sore on your leg when you get it, then you won't wait until a MRSE staph infection spread through your body and your family before you cart your butt to the emergency room. Be a little charitable and stop thinking about yourself.
ReplyDeleteAs a proponent of the public option (or more), I can't exactly see what I'd gain by having the current proposal enacted. So far I've gambled correctly since losing my health insurance over two years ago - the one visit to an orthopedic specialist for an ankle injury and two visits to to the clinic in the back of Walgreen's have come out to much less than I would have paid in premiums for health insurance. Sure, if I need an ER visit, then I'll lose - but again, it's a gamble I'm willing to take. Does this bill still include mandating that everyone purchase insurance? If so, screw this bill. I don't know what else is contained within it. What exactly do all of you like about it?
ReplyDeleteIt is probably much cheaper to buy into Costa Rica's public health system than to jump on Obama's forced funding of the insurance companies.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed that no one has pointed out that Obama keeps bashing the insurance industry while at the same time setting up a nice fat gravy train of premiums. Oh well. People are idiots.
Obama supporters and Rush supports appear to have the same room temperature IQs.
The health care bill will be over 1,000 pages long, and not one Member of Congress who votes for it will really know what is in it.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line is that the federal government will have more control over my life, and I will have less. Any way you slice it, that does not improve my quality of life. An animal in a cage is powerless, even if it has a good veterinarian.
You're right. Wonder how much he had in student loans? Wonder if he'll ever pay them off? Yeah, he's clearly the idiot...
ReplyDeleteOkay.. you're the idiot then. Don't be dense. I had a scholarship and I owe lots less than you. :) He's still and idiot.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Good luck with your job hunting. Hope and change!
