One of the five Columbia students busted for alleged drug-dealing in frat houses and dorms not only plans on returning to the Ivy League campus once he makes bail -- he also wants to go to law school.
"Going to Columbia was my dream, and I plan to finish," said Chris Coles, 20, in an interview at the Manhattan House of Detention, a day after the arrests rocked the university.
Coles, an anthropology/political-science major who allegedly sold $5,000 worth of pot to an undercover cop to finance his tuition, said he wants to attend California-Berkeley's exclusive Boalt Hall Law School after graduation.

  1. Well, you won't have to worry about him maxing out his loan debt. He committed the one crime that bars you from federal aid. Brilliant future legal scholar right there.

  3. This kid is downright delusional. Sounds like a future law school apologist in the making.

This guy's a better bet in stand-up comedy...who else could make NYC drug dealers AND the overworked people in the D.A.'s office trying to prosecute them laugh at the same time?

  4. Kid's got a thing for self destructive behavior. Going to law school, not the drug dealing.

  5. If he can somehow come up with money to pay for law school, he will probably be accepted. He already shows that he has the morals to be a law school administrator.

  6. His best hope now is to become a celebrity for legalization.

  7. He'll make it....if Bundy can, he can.....

  8. Lol, someone probably forgot to mention the character and fitness portion of being a lawyer...i think it would be funny if he actually got into Boalt Hall, passes the California bar, then finds out.

  9. Bundy is our poster boy. Confident, cocky, good looking. He handled a murder trial with no experience. He's the prototype. If HE can get into law school... who the hell can't?

  10. No chance at clearing character and fitness.

  11. Provided that there has been some pressure on the ABA by some of the elite law school administrators to accredit law schools in China and India, I would not be surprised that one of these liberal, elitist 1T law schools would overlook this kid's criminal record, take this kid’s money, and accept him. Who knows? Perhaps his experience in dealing can be applied to as life experience credit? (Geesh!)
