Well, not really. But for my for my purposes, it has been. Nando called me to let me know that Vermont Law laid off some workers. I know for a fact that my alma mater decreased it's class size by 1/4. Good stuff. We started this ball rollin down the Swiss Alps and it's finally demolishing some brick and mortar law schools at the bottom of the hill.
The reality is that we never sought to fix this situation. The whole "scam blog" movement has been to save some students the grief of attending. For those idiots that insist they have been too smart and successful in their lives to be destroyed by a tuition the size of a mortgage, we have been of no assistance whatsoever. I don't care about those kids anyways. I will kill those kids when I see them in the courtroom. They are stupid. They are dense. They are failures at life.
Then, there are those of whom that will enter document review hell and, likely, never emerge. For you guys, I am posting this delightful piece. Let me know what you think.

It is good to see you post again. That video was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteFunny video.
ReplyDelete"For those idiots that insist they have been too smart and successful in their lives to be destroyed by a tuition the size of a mortgage, we have been of no assistance whatsoever. I don't care about those kids anyways."
ReplyDeleteSurely those are the kids who we need to care about the most? Not the ones who have decided not to go to law school, but those who still think it's a good idea.
Awesome video, BTW.
DeleteYes. But with all of the information out there, haven't they proven themselves to be a lost cause? I know that the vast majority of kids in law school heard that it is a bad idea, and went despite that information. How can I help them? They are dense.
DeleteA word of advice: Dump Epic Fail from your blogroll. He is an extremely persistent and alarmingly cunning and intelligent troll and has shit all over Nando and assumes multiple identities.
ReplyDeleteHe is also kind of clinically nuts in my opinion.
He has assumed at least four identities so far and is more or less an anon stalker, but with an alarming anger.
Agreed. That guy is a menace.
DeleteSeriously? I haven't seen any of that from him? Does it hurt to keep him on? I really try not to censor in any way.
DeleteHilarious video. Undergrad, Law school, grad school and med school can turn out being horrible decisions if you are not very careful...keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteWhat's it like being a victim? It must feel nice to absolve yourself of any blame.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Go fuck yourself, Leiter/Mr. Infinity. We're "absolving" ourselves by living with our mistakes each and every day. There is no escape form it. Meanwhile your very existence depends on the taxpayer-funded scam that law schools run. Congrats to you "winners."
DeleteFor Angel: "I’m asking that current scambloggers consider joining us, and use our traffic to get their message out. I’m asking lapsed scambloggers, of which there are many, to join us and get involved again. I’m asking concerned third parties to consider joining us. And I’m asking new scambloggers to consider this as a forum in which they can get their message out to a huge crowd with very little effort."

I read all this and sometimes wonder. I went to a small school as an fairly recent immigrant. Passed the CA bar back in 1991 and the next day I hung out my shingle. Was it hard ... yes. But I am still in private practice as a sole practitioner.
ReplyDeleteI hear and read about all these unemployed lawyers but when I am looking for one to take over certain aspects of a case (a motion here or there, a deposition) ... you guys are invisible.
Is there a website where someone like I can actually find unemployed lawyers and give them some work here and there. -- Nothing steady ... but better than document review!

As a trauma Nurse, I feel your pain. Nothing but "No, thank you" for many of my new-grad friends. I am leaving the field, starting Law School in December(Large family law firm-no chance of unemployment) Has I not had the nepotism-way in, I would never have started, ever. I am amazed at how many of my pre-law mates were totally oblivious to how the lack of work will effect THEM, and were sure that "I'll be the one" That gets the job from "The Firm"(loans paid off, 6 figures, car, home loan, etc) Any attempt at reason is met with calls of "Don't be a downer" and such.
ReplyDeleteThere MUST be some way to get across to these people. It was EXACTLY the same in Nurse School. Hiring was shutting down fast, stories were flooding in about the lack of work, but it was ignored. I was on staff at a hospital and had a job waiting. I was one of only 6 people to get a job within a year of graduation. That was 5 years ago, most of my classmates giving up after 2-3 years of fruitless searching, 2 have committed suicide( reason unknown, but I suppose 89 grand in student debt and your dreams turning into a pile of ash may have had something to do with it) and 5 are working as Nurses, out of a class of 43.
My cousin passed the Bar last year, and now works for the family firm. All of 3 of his fellow students are working.
This is insane!
