Class Action Law Suit!

I know I'm late to the party, but I need to get this out there.  For those of you that have wondered where I am, here it is.  As you all know, I have three jobs (one is my own practice).  I work every Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (or until I fall asleep).  Saturday, I'm off the grid.  Sunday, I work from 6:00 p.m. to 12 midnight. It's a lovely life.  And I'm making a fraction of what I was making a couple of years ago.  So, I would love to update more often--but I'm not really able to because I would be neglecting my duties.  If anyone would like to guest post, I would love to have you.  I'm actually going to post one that was sent to me anonymously shortly.
Back to business!

He is hoping to file a class action on behalf of recent graduates that attended the following schools:

Albany School of Law
New York Law School
Pace Law School
Touro Law School
Hofstra Law School
California Western School of Law
Chapman University School of Law
Golden Gate Law School
McGeorge Law School/University of Pacific (#100)
Southwestern University School of Law
Thomas Jefferson School of Law
Western State University
Witter College of Law

The basis?  Fraud and Misrepresentation.  He is hoping to open it up to more schools in New York and California.

I can't wait to see how this pans out.

Don't be afraid for your reputation.  At this point, it's safe to say that most lawyers (excluding big firm partners) are fully aware of the scam perpetrated on students--but they are using it to their advantage when it comes to hiring them.  So, they know they have you by the balls.  If anything, becoming part of a lawsuit such as this one will show them that you're not as big of a moron as all of the other recent grads.  At least you're well aware you've "been had."

Good luck and let me know how the lawsuit goes.

  1. Can you add Florida Coastal School of Law to that list? I just failed out for not keeping a required GPA. and I had a legal writing teacher fail me out of her second semester legal writing class. EVen though I'm sure my motion for summary judgment memorandum made Jose Baez look like a neanderthal (but somehow he had his J.D. Guess he didn't go to Florida Coastal)

  2. Western State especially is the worst of the worst of the worst. The only reason to attend one of these schools is the scholarships, absolutely do not take student loans to go to any of these because you will be death trapped into non dischargeable debt. If you haven't started, don't, if you have drop out. The only types of cases that you will get as an attorney out of these schools are garbage overflow and pro bono cases. Whenever someone tried to refer one to me like that, i simply said I don't want to do it, i don't feel like it, and i don't have to because i didn't have to pay for school. Then i got out of this field as fast as i could.

  3. You must be willing to move back in with your parents and dwell in their basenment with a wife and family if need be for at least 10 years after graduation. Then if your lucky you will be able to buy a house with the money you saved because most likely you wont be able to get a mortgage.
