Check it out! Lucille Jewel writes a law review article entitled: "You’re Doing It Wrong: How the Anti-Law School Scam Blogging Movement Can Shape the Legal Profession."
It feels good to get some credit. It feels even better that we may be making a difference. Read it when you get a chance!

We have reported this mess, in unflinching detail. Doing so, we have attracted the attention of mainstream news outlets and publications. We did not use euphemistic language, to soften the blow. We simply continue to drop the hammer on the law school pigs. This article's tone and content are lucid, direct and accurate. The other scam-bloggers worked very hard, as well. It was a team effort.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work, scam-bloggers! This piece is awesome. Let's all be prepared for the upcoming panel on April 7th, too. I hope you'll join us to discuss important issues.

It was written in a boring style. I much prefer the pictures Nando posts. Nando has an impact that something with footnotes could never do. Law schools, law professors, and law review articles debating legal education reform is like putting Goldman Sachs in charge of financial reform. The whole system needs to be torn down.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog!...Daniel

ReplyDeleteI just discovered this blog through the Posselist. Thank God you're out there! I did doc review in DC for 4+ years and was going to a)kill myself or b)do something that did not suck my soul out. I moved to California. But now I'm unemployed and trying to explain to people that JUST BECAUSE I HAVE A LAW DEGREE AND LICENSES DOESN'T MEAN I CAN JUST GO ANYWHERE AND GET A F*CKING JOB!!!! At least you can understand ;-) Maybe I'll move to Canada as well. I always wanted to buy a farm there and make syrup and harvest apples.
ReplyDeleteIf the professor posted this article on SSRN you should post that link for the article. A lot of schools follow their professors views and downloads on SSRN and take the numbers into consideration for promotion, tenure, and retention purposes.

Seeing Demos's comment above made me think of this quote.
The problem is primarily economic.
ReplyDeleteThat is to say a major problem is that the government and the private megabanks originate massive amounts of debt that is funneled to unsuspecting and excited potential law students who then get to spend three more years in school avoiding the real world.
Stop making law school free!
The problem is the financing of the so called law school scam.
I think that there is a stage between "opposed" and "self-evident." It is where the establishment uses flattery and promises of reform to try to persuade the truth-teller to water down his or her critique. Miss Shilling-Me-Softly fell into that trap by letting Bob Morse sweet talk her.
ReplyDeleteAnd how did that work out for Kimber? Did we get the reform we have been demanding?
ReplyDeleteI really liked your blog. This was interesting. Keep it up.
