Peop...Angel, I read that article over the weekend. People apparently think that law school (or graduate school) is a great place to ride out the recession. What they fail to take into account, is that they will more than likely enter an economy that is not much better. (We still don't produce much, in the way of goods, and the wealth is in the hands of the few.) Plus, they may end up with an extra $50K-%150K in student debt.

If they have interest rates that are at 5%, and they pay back their loans in 25-30 years (a high likelihood, given our service-based economy) that can amount to paying $100K-$300K to be free of student debt. This is MUCH worse for people who take out private loans - which many do, because tuition is so damn high.Nandohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06423524039657355134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5452025352696285200.post-72408558698261282782010-01-11T11:19:58.808-05:002010-01-11T11:19:58.808-05:00I'm sorry, Angel. If your education is getting you nowhere, how can anyone think more of the same type of education better? As for law, the job prospects are so limited I don't see why people are so eager to get into the field as a means of finding a better job.

I did take the LSAT, and in my prep class there were people who stated they wanted to go to law school for "better job security" and "because there is nothing else you can do with an (insert field of liberal arts) degree." I really hope those people in my prep class re-think things or find a blog like yours before its too late.Marianoreply@blogger.com
